About Franklin
Franklin, formerly Frankenstein, was removed from a home in New York along with his brother Westie Kiki (now Sammy, NAWR alum). Franklin was a very aggressive dog when he entered rescue having lived ferally and outside for much of his life. We had to separate him from Kiki so he could develop his own identity and begin to trust people. With the help from our vet, Franklin began the recovery process. Due to his complex needs, he was fostered by NAWR Executive Director Karen Errichetti and her husband Vincent. After several months, Franklin became a sweet dog and able to interact with other dogs and with people. He was eventually adopted by Karen and Vincent and is now a central member of their family along with NAWR alums Kirby, Bunny, and Jackson.
